چکیده
Takayasu arteritis (also known as pulseless disease, aortoarteritis, and aortic arch syndrome) is a chronic, inflammatory and occlusive vasculitis of the aorta and its primary branches as well as the pulmonary arteries. It predominantly affects young females, particularly from India and South East Asia.Subclavian steal syndrome secondary to takayasu arteritis occurs when there is severe stenosis or occlusion in subclavian artery which usually causes symptoms of vertebrobasilar territory. A case of Takayasu arteritis with thrombosis of bilateral subclavian arteries with subclavian steal syndrome affecting right subclavian artery is being reported here.

Cerebrovascular manifestations of Takayasu arteritis in Europe.
OBJECTIVES Takayasu arteritis is well known as a cause of stroke in Asia but has rarely been described in the Western world. Here we report the clinical and neuroimaging follow-up of a series of patients with Takayasu arteritis from Europe. METHODS Seventeen consecutive patients who fulfilled the diagnostic criteria for Takayasu arteritis of the American College of Rheumatology were evaluated...
متن کاملA successful management of concomitant renovascular hypertension and symptomatic subclavian steal syndrome due to Takayasu's arteritis using balloon angioplasty and axillo-axillary bypass grafting.
We present a case of Takayasu's arteritis with severe renovascular hypertension and symptomatic subclavian steal syndrome. A 60-year-old woman underwent successful percutaneous balloon renal angioplasty and axillo-axillary bypass grafting. The role of hybrid therapy, angioplasty and extra-anatomical bypass grafting for revascularization of symptomatic ischemia in this disease is reviewed. (Ann ...
متن کاملSpontaneous Resolution of the Left Subclavian Artery Obstruction in Takayasu's Arteritis
Spontaneous resolution of the arterial obstruction in Takayasu's arteritis is rarely reported. We reported a case of spontaneous resolution of an obstruction of the left subclavian artery in a young female. The patient underwent a bilateral coronary patch ostioplasty for both coronary ostial lesions complicated by Takayasu's arteritis at the age of 28. Concomitant left subclavian obstruction wa...
متن کاملA Case of Membranous Glomerulonephropathy Associated with Takayasu's Arteritis
Glomerulonephropathy is a rare complication of Takayasu's arteritis (TA). To date, most glomerulonephropathies associated with TA show the histological feature of mesangial proliferation. Membranous glomerulonephropathy (MG) is a form of glomerulonephropathy in which the mesangial proliferation is not conspicuous and its association with TA is extremely rare. A 54-year-old man was referred to o...
متن کاملTakayasu’s Arteritis - An Unusual Cause of Stroke in a Young Patient
We describe the case of a 28-year-old-male with no significant medical history who presented with right-sided hemiparesis, bruits over the carotid and subclavian arteries and an elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate. Imaging studies revealed a middle cerebral artery thrombus and inflammatory changes of the carotid and subclavian arteries and aorta. The diagnosis of Takayasu's arteritis was ma...
